Mental health issues will affect one in four of us. Despite this prevalence, mental health remains heavily stigmatised, and the more extreme the circumstances - suicidal thoughts, paranoid schizophrenia, severe depression, mania - the less likely it will be openly discussed. The subject often clams up, unwilling to burden anyone else with their internal struggles.
"A problem shared is a problem halved" might sound like a cliche, but it's grounded in fact. Communication, openness and empathy are all key components of tackling issues, as these interviews demonstrate. They are about talking openly about mental health.
